I've changed my decision, I'm going to just do page 3. If I have a LOT of free time when I finish page 3, I'll do page 4. 60 lines, no thanks. =P

I read some of the comments here and tried some of the concepts mentioned. Sorry guys, but this Macintosh Classic doesn’t have the ability to export PDF files (or any other modern format). It was somewhat easy to get a printout on an ImageWriter dot-matrix printer we found in all the junk.

Getting a digital version of the data took a bit more effort. I had to splice together a RS-422 serial port cable to a USB serial adapter to get something out. The USB consortium killed off the publically available serial port standard so a standard serial port wasn’t available on either one of our laptops.

Here’s the data extract.

Love you squid. I had the first page typed and proofed and completed... but you got the image... Great job. Now lets figuar this one out.

So what things are common about this image?

It almost felt like evolution but the images dont match up for that.

The human "female" form at the end is what brought me to the thought of evolution... yet the other bio's dont fit....

Any one else have any random ideas?

Lets try to ideantify each biological being perhaps.

The common name and perhaps the scientific name and see if that gives us anything.

That first bird, reminds me of a flightless bird that is only found in the Golopigos (sp lol) islands.

Wait? Is that a Dodo?

Well, all of the animals seem to be extinct:

Great Auk (similar Picture found on wiki article) - MOST LIKELY Dutch Alcon Blue or Xerces Blue

Kioea (Picture found on wiki article) - - - - Not sure

Tasmanian Tiger(Similar Picture found on wiki article) - Homo Sapian Female (Picture found on article)

I believe the symbols underneath each animal correspond to when they became extinct.

For example: The Great Auk became extinct in 1852. 1852 decoded to binary =11100111100. Match this up to the symbols, the horizontal lines match the 1s and the dashes match the 0s. This also works for the Thylacine. The only one unknown is the human of course.

The human is: 10101????

I guess the cube doesn't know all

i think the four _'s are missing digits. We're off on a quest to figure out our extinction date, it seems. The 10101 equates to 21, so it's 21-- when we go extinct.

Yeah there must be more to this... it's strange that the human only has 9 binary digits because the number can't be that big, all of the other animals were 11. And the bird picture has parenthesis around its date. Weird.

edit: Nevermind about the () I think it's just because that bird, Kioea has an approximate extinction year, 1859.
